Staying for four nights in Douglas, you’ll enjoy three guided walking days, each covering approximately 4–5 miles at a comfortable pace. Along the way you’ll explore historic towns, dramatic coastal paths and hidden glens while your experienced local guide shares the island’s fascinating history, culture and wildlife.
With return ferry travel, comfortable accommodation, daily breakfast and an Explorer Pass included, everything has been arranged so you can simply enjoy the journey.

Travel by ferry to the Isle of Man and check into your chosen accommodation in Douglas. Spend the rest of the day settling in before your walking adventure begins.
After breakfast, meet your guide and walk to Douglas Railway Station to board the historic Isle of Man Steam Railway for the journey to Ballasalla.
Today's walk follows the peaceful Silverburn River through one of the island's most historic landscapes. Visit the atmospheric ruins of Rushen Abbey, cross the medieval Monk's Bridge and enjoy the tranquil surroundings of Silverdale Glen before continuing into Castletown, the island's ancient capital.
There will be time to explore the town, enjoy lunch at your leisure and, if you wish, visit Castle Rushen, one of Europe's best-preserved medieval castles, before returning to Douglas by steam train.

Today, travel on the Manx Electric Railway with sweeping views of the Irish Sea. The journey to Laxey is a highlight in itself, offering a unique glimpse of the island’s landscapes.
The walk begins at Laxey Station, with the first stop being the iconic Great Laxey Wheel, the world’s largest working waterwheel and a proud symbol of the island’s mining heritage.
The route then climbs gently towards Agneash, a former mining village nestled in the hills, before winding across peaceful countryside paths.

For those who prefer a gentler option they can walk to visit the Laxey Wheel and go back to the tram station to take the Snaefell Mountain Railway for a scenic journey to the top of the Island’s only mountain.

This morning, the group walks to Douglas bus station to board a service heading west to St John’s, a village with special importance in Manx culture. St John’s is home to Tynwald Hill, the ancient site of the island’s parliament, which has met here for over a thousand years and is recognised as the oldest continuous parliament in the world.
From St John’s, the route follows part of the Heritage Trail, a peaceful pathway along a former railway line, before turning towards Knockaloe Beg and climbing onto Peel Hill. Here, the views stretch across the Irish Sea and over the harbour town of Peel. A short detour leads to Corrin’s Folley, a 19th-century monument and superb vantage point.

After breakfast, check out of your accommodation and make your way to the ferry terminal for your return sailing.
